The Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project is situated on a secluded 80 acre property about 40 minutes North of the Napa Valley in Northern California. Cobb is a small community in a forested area of rural Lake County. The 3000 sq. ft. studio houses three private studios, central shared studio, gallery space, large well-equipped kitchen, four furnished bedrooms, laundry facilities and a photo room. Three additional furnished bedrooms are available in the resident house about half a mile from the studio.


Become A Resident

Whats Included:  We offer long and short term residencies ranging from two weeks to two years. The resident house and studio accommodations are fully furnished and recently remodeled with well equipped kitchens. The main studio houses three 150 square foot studios that can be used as private or shared work space. These studios include ware carts and throwing wheels, if desired. The main studio provides a large shared work space filled with natural light, work tables, a wedging table, slab roller, kick and electric wheels. In addition to the upstairs living quarters and downstairs studios, the main building also houses our 330 square foot gallery space. The 80 acres of forested property is also home to multiple gardens, a horse, chickens, dogs, goats and an orchard. Residents are encouraged to participate in maintaining the gardens in exchange for fresh, organic produce.

Cost: Monthly rent for resident housing is $500 plus up to $100 per month utilities. Studio access is granted in exchange for 10 hours of work per week. Work trade responsibilities include, but are not limited to, physical labor maintaining the forestland including brush burning, tending the organic gardens, working with the native plant nursery, managing the website and gallery, preparing firewood, marketing for events, teaching classes, assisting at workshops and maintaining a clean studio environment, inside and out.
